In the middle crushing stage, cone crusher and impact crusher each have their own unique characteristics and applicable scenarios. The main differences between them are reflected in the following aspects:

1、Working principle
Cone crusher:
The cone crusher adopts the principle of layered crushing. When the material enters the crusher, the motor drives the transmission shaft to rotate, so that the inner and outer cone surfaces rotate to form a crushing chamber. The material is continuously squeezed and impacted by the inner and outer cone surfaces in the crushing chamber, and finally crushed.
Specifically, the circular crushing chamber is composed of the moving cone and the fixed cone, and the material is evenly sprinkled into the crushing chamber through the distribution plate. Driven by the eccentric shaft, the moving cone makes an eccentric rotation on the inner surface of the fixed cone, sometimes approaching the fixed cone and sometimes leaving the fixed cone. When the surface of the moving cone is close to one side of the inner surface of the fixed cone, the ore here is crushed by squeezing, bending, and grinding; when the moving cone leaves this place, the crushed ore is discharged from the discharge port at the bottom of the cone.

Impact crusher:
The impact crusher adopts the principle of impact crushing. After the material enters from the entrance, it is repeatedly impacted and crushed between the plate hammer and the impact plate until it reaches the required particle size and is discharged.
Specifically, when the impact crusher is working, the rotor rotates at high speed. When the material enters the plate hammer action area, it hits the plate hammer on the rotor and is crushed, and then thrown onto the impact device for crushing again, and then bounces back from the impact lining to the plate hammer action area for crushing again. This process is repeated, and the material enters the first, second, and third impact chambers from large to small and is repeatedly crushed until the material is crushed to the required particle size and discharged from the discharge port.

2、Discharge particle size
Cone crusher:
Cone crusher can produce materials with finer and more uniform particle size. It has a large crushing ratio and uniform product particle size, which is suitable for medium and fine crushing of various ores, rocks, etc.
Impact crusher:
The impact crusher has a certain micro-shaping function, and the materials produced are angular and have good particle shape. However, its discharge particle size may be relatively large, and the particle size distribution range may be wide.

3、Processing capacity
Cone crusher:
Cone crusher has strong processing capacity and is suitable for large-scale mineral processing projects and occasions requiring efficient crushing.
Impact crusher:
The processing capacity of the impact crusher is relatively small, but the finished particle shape is good, and it is generally suitable for small building materials or construction projects.

4、Applicable materials
Cone crusher:
Cone crusher is mainly used for hard materials such as calcite, granite, river pebbles, dolomite, bluestone, glass, basalt, iron ore, etc.

Impact crusher is mainly used for medium-hard materials such as river pebbles, iron ore, limestone, quartzite, coal gangue and construction waste.
